One of my very few regrets is that I only discovered how much fun running is until well into my 40’s, and for that reason alone, I’m always thrilled when I get the chance to get out and run with one of my girls.

Today, for the third year in a row, daughter #2 and I ran Beat the Bridge,  a five mile run on familiar terrain around Montlake and the University which is accessible, fun and in aid of a good cause (The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

Despite extremely inclement weather conditions (let’s be honest, we got absolutely soaked) we had a great time and she finished in 39:52, sixth in the Female u-14 category. Might be some natural talent there?

Either way, it was just great to cross the finish line with her and gives me some hope that maybe one day we’ll be able to tackle some more challenging distances together.

Well done Nat. You totally rule.
